How to be spiritual in the modern world

I bet you have heard before the saying, ” have you found your tribe yet” well in this crazy, hectic, social media filled world its hard not to want to be part of something bigger than yourself. These days there is more spiritual “tribes” and religions around that its hard to figure out what one do you feel more comfortable and connect with.

Spirituality has so many definitions and meaning to each person that one is not more important than the other, so how can you incorporate your curiosity, creativity and gain wisdom in your life?  Here is a guide to increasing awareness and strengthening your relationship with yourself and the wonderful world around you.

  •  There is not right or wrong way to express yourself.

 

  •  Find someone who is in line with your values and that you admire. Let them guide you.  Who inspires you? Who drives and motivates you to change and grow for the better? It can be someone of this time or a previous life!

 

  •  Use the Moon as a guide. Yes our ancestors before us have been using the Moon as a guide, for rituals, agriculture, manifesting and healing. The Moon controls the tides and water on earth so what makes you think it can’t rule our emotional? our body is made up of 70% water,  Use the Moon phases as a guide to helping you through the month, New Moons are for manifesting, Full Moons area time for releasing that which no longer serves a purpose in our life – people, emotions, habits.

 

  • Smudging. Burn some white sage to cleanse your home, office, anything that occupies your personal space. Sage is traditionally been used for healing, cleansing AND PURIFYING  and medicinal purposes. Smudging is a great way of dispelling any bad left of energy and negative influences. it’s believed the left over smoke detox and purifies a room,home, object and person.. give it a try!

 

  • Use your intuition instead of your logic. Ever get that ” Gut feeling” when you knew that knot in the pit of your stomach was telling you something than your brain was registering was right.. ” I just had that feeling, The bad feeling wouldn’t ease up, we have an internal compass that guides us, that feeling is the balance between the head and the heart.. start listening you will be surprised on how well it guides you.

 

  •  Start off small. If it all seems to much to begin with and nothing seems to resonate with you, take small steps at a time.  New belief systems and practices can be overwhelming so take it back a step and do what feels right for you.

 

  • Gratitude. Practicing gratitude is essential key element to a happy life. If you want to read about gratitude and the power it holds read my article here. The power of gratitude 

 

  • Complain less! There is no point wasting your time, energy and emotions on situations and circumstances you can’t change.

 

  • Don’t think about the value of money! Stressing about money causes you to attract a negative frequency and it can weigh you down. Simplify your life, do what your heart tells you to do. You can afford a happy, fulfilling life, what brings joy to your life? rather than determining whether it will be cost-effective just do it, don’t deny yourself the pleasures of life because of some monetary detail, don’t base your happiness on a discount. If we focus on the lack in our life, or a price tag you create a barrier of resistance. Don’t make money the guiding principle for what you have or do or your soul happiness, free yourself from placing a price on everything you do and have, try to see the value on everything and not the dollar price after all the world of spirit does not have a dollar price on the actual value of something.

Just remember every moment of your life is an opportunity to start fresh, no one wins or looses as a person and you can always dance to the beat of your own drum.Take every sweet unexpected moment as blessing and enjoy life.

 The Sun in Aquarius trines the Moon in Libra.

The Moon in Libra opposes Uranus in Aires and conjunts Jupiter in Libra. With the Moon and Jupiter in Libra there is an added component of good luck, harmony and attention to our relationships.  The Sun in Aquarius trines the Moon in Libra so here we see that added element of intelligence. Today like yesterday the atmosphere is ideal for romance, but less intense than the actual valentines day. Today extend the love, extend that romantic mood from yesterday and do something fun with the one you love, as today is more clam and less intense than the actual valentines day. The Moon in Leo opposes the Sun and Mercury in Aquarius. Than the Moon Sextiles Venus in Aires. Wow this is an amazing day for new beginnings, a new job, a new relationship, having an interview. Any kind of practical or physical circumstances that you can put out there in the world today will have positive outcomes. Today is the day to do so! This is because you will be more switch on, confident, articulate and you will find that you can put your ideas into practice. Communication and your thought process is sassy , quick, very new age and upbeat if you have been dreaming of that holiday maybe today you can put a deposit down or get out a map and plot the places you want to see! Anything you can put out there in the world today that benefits your dreams and the dreams of those close to you, well today is the day to do so. You can thanks the universe for this – because you will be more switched on, confident, articulate, focused and you will find that you can put your ideas into practice, and these ideas will be strong so if your gut tells you to peruse something go for it.

Mercury in Aquarius forms a sextile to Venus in Aries today. When Fire and Air combine we MUST take care when negotiating, please clarify feelings and miss communication particularly in love, with family and any partnerships and plans. Have a discussion with others and make sure that you are on the same path and have the same understanding. When Mercury the ruler of communication, travel and the mental realm dances with Venus the planet of love and creativity gives our charm a boost , social grace, romantic overtures, grand gestures of love, self-love and sensuality. We’re inclined to verbal or analyze our feelings and relationships more than normal. We might also communicate with more warmth and style and try to see others point of view.

The Moon is in Leo all day, reaching full tonight. How exciting as we are so close to the  Full Moon  Lunar Eclipse. Full Moons and Lunar Eclipses bring issues in our lives to fulfillment. have you felt the build up of intense emotions this week? People acting impulsive or strange. Our emotions can and will heightened or those around you. I can tell you I have barely slept all week, but still full of energy and my emotions have been like a whirlwind, but on that note, thank you Universe, as it’s all been positive emotions with a dash of over thinking lower emotions but I am a Cancerian and Moon Child so that is natural around Full Moons.

This weekend however with all this intense lunar energy, often some drama may evolve. The areas of our life that seem to be a problem or not resolving even if you have tried every resource to fix them may see dramatic turns , when activated by the Eclipse , after which the path is clear to move forward.Something may  come  light at the time of the Full Moon. Remember Full Moons are a time of release so do a physical, spiritual, emotional and mental cleanse this weekend. Epiphanies are likely now and can propel us into affirmative action.

So  get in touch with your emotions, only so you can get a better idea of what needs to change, needs to be cleansed or what needs to go.

The Moon goes into playful Leo. Today you will be confident, playful and your energy levels will rise. The Moon opposes Mercury in Aquarius and trines Venus in Aires. What an exceptional Thursday. The energy levels couldn’t get more creative, playful and highly intense. The air is lighter and there is more opportunities to have fun.. You will love the spotlight and your confidence will soar today. You will see things from a lighter point of view! Lively and fun is the theme today, plan something fun, meet up with others socialize, flirt, engage in activities that awaken the soul.

The Moon entered Leo this morning and is building towards full. The Full Moon in Leo occurring tomorrow night is actually a Luner Eclipse, but not the only Eclipse we see this month we will get the chance to witness a Solar Eclipse 26/2/17. Astrological speaking Eclipses are a time of significant discoveries, changes and epiphanies.

When the Sun in is Aquarius, astrology speaking it is a great time  for doing things outside of the box, new age and independent thinking, embracing change, taking radical actions and joining forces with other Kindred Spirits or people from your own tribe who have similar causes or ideals they are fighting for!Mercury is also in the sign of Aquarius, and our thinking and communication is radical and revolutionary.However the way we think and feel can sometimes be so Big, that the Bigger Picture is all we focus on and we are not so interested in the details.

The Moon is in Cancer.

The Moon forms a  T-square with Jupiter, Pluto, and Uranus.

The Moon is still in its home sign of beautiful Cancer. The Cancer Moon opposes Pluto in Capricorn, it than squares Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aires, so again we have a lot of energy with a lot of planets interacting today.

Today you will find emotional strength and have the ability to overcome challenges. So any problems that felt so big on Monday and Tuesday that you thought were too large to overcome,  will start to shrink! They become the right size and you will see them for what they truly are and you will gain a proper perspective. Today with this semi grand square in our skies you will find it easier to commit to working through difficult these problems now. Tap into your  inner master and genies and put it to work to problem solve.

Again you will succeed the most today if you can connect with other people. So whatever you are doing today include others… Whether its your job, at the gym at home , or just simply having conversations with others, if you have the chance to include others and bring them along do so, brainstorm with others, get support and you will utilizing these energies at their highest peak.

The Moon  T-square with Jupiter, Pluto, and Uranus we are left with much focus and attention to our relationships, careers, and personal plans. The Cancer Moon pushes us to consider our emotional needs, it is also very nurturing and is sensitive and dedicated to loved ones. Mercury moves into  Aquarius.

The Moon goes into wonderful Cancer today and we see Mercury move out of grounded Capricorn and go into forward thinking Aquarius. Mercury in Aquarius is brilliant , its beautiful and fantastic.Mercury in Aquarius is so happy and comfortable in this planetary position , your thoughts will be free-flowing today, you will be able to find inspiration all around you ,you will be able to think outside the box and your connections with others will be strong. Communication today is much clearer and very focused compared to yesterday, you can find yourself having the time and space to be innovate , you will have new ideas and create some extraordinary and beautiful projects.Inspiration will be all around you today. Just watch out for the shadow side of Mercury in Aquarius. We can tend to be over rebellious and over revolutionary in our ideas and communication. We can also get stuck in the way we think and feel is the right way,and it can be easy to annoy, agitate and walk all over how others think and feel.

The Moon enters Cancer today and  we seek out comfort and familiarity today. Surround yourself with family and friends, throw a dinner party, go for lunch, entertain for those you love. When the Moon is in Cancer we love the comforts of home and family and well yummy food, so why not combine all three and have a nurturing time.

As the Moon gets closer and closer to being Full, it’s time for stamina and charging ahead. Don’t give up. Don’t allow any doubts, fear or the ego to spoil your plans and manifestations. Mercury in Capricorn squares Jupiter in Libra.

The Moon in Aries trines Saturn in Sagittarius, conjunts Uranus in Aires,  and squares Pluto in Capricorn.

The Moon in Aires forms a lot of relationships with planets today. The Moon trines Saturn in Sagittarius, conjunts Uranus in Aires, opposes Jupiter in Libra and squares Mercury and Pluto in Capricorn. Today the energies floating around seem complicated and complex, so it makes for a great day to really focus on your own needs, focus on your own projects and what you can do to really make changes in them. Today stay within yourself or as much as you can to work and focus this manic energy on you, as it may not be the best day to be working with others. Communication breakdown will occur as Jupiter can be excessive and with the Moon and Uranus in Aires communication can be some what forward and volatile. You may lose your patience and tempers could flare up today.

Jupiter in Libra squares Mercury in Capricorn. Jupiter in Libra asks that we seek to find common ground when working with others,and to compromise and to have compassion with others especially when it comes to communicating and the way we think and feel. This week in Astrology!

Monday 9/1/17 – Sunday 15/1/17.

What an exciting week! Several big things are happening this week and the energy is very much about moving forward. Many of us this week will have a feeling of momentum and wanting to move things forward. Now is the time for action!!  Some will take this action intelligently and some will take the energy and overdo it emotionally, but regardless there is a strong desire for change this week.

Mercury moves direct this week. YAY!  We will get clarity on issues that were presented to us early on December last year. The difference is we will not only get clarity but we will be moving forward on those issue, so think back what was happening to you around this time? Clarity equals action!

This week in our skies something amazing will happen that happens around once a year. All the planets are moving forward, that means no shadowing or retrograde!  This will be happening for the next four weeks, which means we get this comic kick-start  to get things going and move forward in our desired direction.

This week we will also get to experience a Grand Cardinal Cross! How exciting and liberating. So what is a grand cardinal cross? Well all the major players in the sky are in cardinals star signs. Now cardinal signs are those star signs that start off and begin each season, they are the signs that represent new beginnings,  fresh new change and energy. The Sun in a cardinal sign and is standing between Uranus and Jupiter in cardinal sign. This is creating a T square.but even better news is we see a Full Moon in Cancer this week! All the signs that start of the seasons are lit up this week, which gives us a sense of awareness and sense of enjoy on the surface! However be aware we can act very impulsive and  be highly emotional. With these placements the possibility of overdoing it, over indulging, being over sensitive and becoming highly impulsive and acting on emotions along with a few cosmic surprises coming out of the woodwork can be experienced . If you use this energy wisely it can work in your favor , with a little strategy and some thought you will prosper. This is because of what else is happening in the sky at the same time… Mars is speaking in harmony with Pluto, which is brilliant, because this means action meets strategy. Understanding of perception and how things are meant to be equal meaningful change, and this change can take place can from the root ! The result is a clear-cut path forward for us and the people around us. Transformation and change not only on an individual level but as a whole and collectively change, place your energy wisely. Were are you going to place your energy for change? We’re we place the majority of our energy is we’re we see growth, we’re can you see that needs change on deep and superficial level. The grand cross is basically a bunch of squares forming with the planets, and this translates into a bunch of conversations we need to have with our self , these conversations speak to our motivation for meaningful transformation to happen, they are energy ,momentum, so being smart about our actions towards positive change is the key at this time! Be the change for the future you want to live!

The Full Moon in Cancer tells us that our desire to change and to do something meaningful and that you personally passionate about, your emotional truth! Most of us out there all have at least one situation or problem in our life that has become unexpectedly difficult and this Full Moon will allow us to connect and see the truth. The momentum is there for us to make changes, trust your emotions and intuition, trust you have the right tools for success. Especially in the beginning of the week, revelations will be exposed , where we put our energy will be exposed and what changes need to occur? What do you need to release?

Moon in Libra.

Venus is in Capricorn and it squares Jupiter in Libra.

  Jupiter in Libra conjunts Pluto in Capricorn.

Today in my eyes is the best day of the week . Today there is potential for massive transformation in your personal relationships! This is because Venus is in Capricorn and it squares Jupiter in Libra and then conjunts Pluto in Capricorn.

Pluto is the planet of change, transformation see it as the phoenix rising from the ashes, and this is BIG. This isn’t about little changes in your relationships, this energy is about taking your relationships and really solidify it and be together. If some of you have been in an unhappy relationship for a while this could be the transformation that could push you to makes changes.. whether it’s for the good or the bad it can go either way. Are you unhappy?do need that cosmic push to leave an unhappy relationship or do you need that confirmation that yes… yes this is the one and i am happy! Ignoring the fears and all the doubts of the ego . But ultimately today its a positive change.

Just remember what comes up today could equally be passion, excitement or even obsession.

The Sun moves into Sagittarius

Third Quarter Moon in Virgo

Today we start the week off with an abundant and grateful attitude. It’s the last third quarter Moon today and its on its way to a New Moon, so things are winding down from the intense Full Moon energy of last week. There is a sense of peace, things are calmer, we can relax more, but at the same time the Moon goes into Virgo today, so there is a sense of practicality and focusing on what is in your life, taking inventory  and looking at what we have, what is working for us, what we are pleased with along with what we are not happy with. The theme today is optimism and realism, we have the ability to really look at all the good things on your life and how abundant you really are .

The Sun goes into Sagittarius later today. The Sun enters Sagittarius today where it will transit until December 21st.When the Sun is in Scorpio as we focused on identifying hidden things, intimate and intense relationships, now as the Sun enters Sagittarius its a completely different vibe. Sagittarius energy is free, fun and adventurous. We shift from water to fire from mysterious to expansion. This will be a month of growing, learning, fun and socializing, but on the dark side it’s also a month of overdoing it! over spending, over eating over doing all the naughty things in life. The aim is to find your balance without sacrificing too much.

On a personal level, when the Sun is in Sagittarius we leave the need of Scorpio’s intimate, close personal relationship and connections to a desire to expand and reach out to the world. We want to connect with others and expand our horizons within ourself and in our relationships.
