Well this week we see the magic of the waxing crescent moon transform into the beginning of the New Moon cycle that occurs on Friday, May 6th, 2016.

The Aries New Moon cycle we have just been in ends and the New Moon in Taurus cycle begins.

The New Moon in Taurus

The energies of this earth sign is the mighty Bull!, It’s time to enjoy life’s simple and physical pleasures, this New Moon is great time to commit to personal goals, try to tap into the beautiful grounding energies of this star signs and not pulled down by their negative!

Enjoy activities that bring you in touch with nature and with you bodies. Taurus is about security, safety, ambitions, sensual and practical. The have a great eye for beauty, and a mastermind with finances. With this New Moon approaching its time to become more aware of what makes us feel comfortable and secure. Mercury transits the sun (crosses in front of the sun, as seen from Earth) on May 9, for the first time since 2006

With Mercury in retrograde and with the New Moon approaching Taurus, this is a good cycle under which to re-evaluate our relationship to possessions and money, and to discover what truly makes us happy and fulfilled.

Jupiter pops out first thing at dusk. It’s the brightest star like object in May and lights up the nighttime until the wee hours of the morning.

 

 

Lets Start at the beginning of the week

Monday 1st May , the moon is in Pisces connecting ( T-square configuration) with Neptune, Jupiter and Saturn. As we know Pisces is a creative, artistic a dreamer..  but it can also leave your thoughts chaotic and a little of not knowing whats going on this is  due to Mercury in retrograde. The configuration of these planets, we may be feeling a little chaotic , emotional unbalanced, with internal and external conflicts. We will feel to a degree, instability and undecidable with our goals and what next step to take. A positive aspect is our usual intuition and judgment is enhanced under this influence, and we can use this to help ground ourselves when thinking, dealing and seeing in matters with fresh new perspective that works in our advantage. finding beauty in the differences.

Tuesday –

The Sun trine is in a positive aspect with Jupiter and Virgo  This influence is about growth and expansiveness. These planets are about earth and stability and practical matters. We are more aware of moral issues, and have a desire to improve and learn. Optimism and confidence are basic elements in the energy of this transit. We are more willing to take a risk or two, and we are motivated by a desire to impress others. Enthusiasm runs high, and cooperation comes easy. This is generally a good time to schedule new beginnings in business, education, personal relationships, marriage, creative projects, and so forth, all things equal.

Although Taurus energy  can be easy-going and respectful, its energy  can also be unbelievably stubborn, self-indulgent and inflexible in their approach. So if you find this week that if logic and logical conversations don’t seem to be getting across to some you will know its the stubbornness of the Taurus energy, so just breath , smile and know  that some might refuse to listen! common sense sometimes isn’t so common.

When Wednesday/Thursday   approaches, this is a special day as the Sun is in Taurus; Mercury is in Taurus; Venus is in Taurus; Mars is in Sagittarius. WOW what a mouthful, and kinda unnerving, this whole week is a build of energy for something big to be released… A cosmic storm!!!

Friday we see the New Moon. The last New Moon in Scorpio was a little intense with that Scorpio energy, now the New Moon is in the sign of Taurus  we will see on that day the Moon will make several aspects , aspects with Venus, Neptune, Jupiter, pluto and Mercury . Be prepared it will be a very busy new moon, and new moons are always about new beginnings  and with this potent Taurus energy  it’s all about practicality nature, security oriented nature dealing with money , values , resources, material level, projects or careers.

Saturday  and Sunday we will see a very busy build up of positive earth signs. that will include – Pluto,Jupiter, Capricorn and Virgo. This build up of energy is a good change, we will see positive results once mercury and jupiter get out of retrograde and go direct!! The  Sun in Taurus is trine with pluto , jupiter and Capricorn, so this results in a Grand Trine. The Sun is making a grand trine with all the earth signs, the Sun in Taurus  is aligning and connecting positively with jupiter and the earth sign of virgo,  The Sun is also  in a positive aspect with the earth sign of capricorn. The grand build up is transforming a powerful energy, that will be interesting to see unfold over the next few weeks.

So lets not forget to mention Mercury

Mercury is in retrograde, and as the planet of communication, when it is in retrograde  communication can be misinterpreted ,confusing and lead to an uncertain level of communication confusion! EEK so while we are in this period its best to remember that mercury rules our lower minds and how we perceive information, interpret information and communication,  from ourselves, others and our surrounding environment. So pay close attention to what you say and communicate in general.

Mercury also has ruler-ship in other areas of our worlds such as buying and selling, travel, signing formal contracts, speaking,  negotiating,  listening and  documents, so try to avoid any large purchases, booking holidays, signing new business deals and contracts, negotiating new jobs or pay rises as all of these areas of life can affected when Mercury is functioning in a sluggish state.

Good old Mercury is here to help us make important changes in our lives, he helps us to  reorganise and reflect.This period is  great at  looking  at the world, situations, ourselves a little differently,  with rose-coloured glasses or through different filters, and most importantly Mercury helps us  come up with some very important inner revelations

Law of attraction will be put into practice this week, testing our new boundaries, Ask for assistance this week from someone who is more in tune with  the divine , universe, a guru etc.. if you feel like you are in a rut, help is coming, just wait it’s on it way ,  talk to your guides, angles the  big man in the sky and take the life raft if one is offered to you.emotional cleansing will lead to liberation for the soul, and  will help ground you this week with all the cosmic chaos going on.

Clean away old patterns, energies that you  rid to get rid of before and didn’t work, cos now with the planetary alignments and the New Moon it is the time to really clean and cleanse out ourself for our souls, its time for you to get  rid of what has been holding you back

Letting go

The path to happiness is often a path of letting go, removing what no longer serves you and not adding to or gaining something. Learning to let go of the past, in particular, emotions, attitudes, bad habits, draining relationships and any other “baggage” that is holding you back is the key to our inner happiness and long overdue healing. In order to make way for amazing wonderful things to come we must leave our comfort zone and “Let go”.

Learning to let go can be somewhat scary, but it is essential!! Learning to let go of old ideas, people, habits and any other situation that no longer serves you is the key to inner balances and self-growth.

A huge block to “letting go” for personal growth is that the future is always unknown. The future is unpredictable, and by letting go, a part of us feels as we may loose an essential part of our life, our identity, a friendship, and a major element of our past, our personality, family or values. This can be a stumbling block, but to truly move forward and embrace what the future has we have to shed our old skin, move forward.

Here is some great examples of dysfunctional living habits that are worth reconsidering and letting go of, they can offer you a temporary relief, but in the long run just add stress, strain and are just simply unhealthy for the mind body and soul.

  • Avoiding work obligations and procrastinating.
  • Excessive alcohol consumption.
  • Emotional eating.
  • Consuming too much sugar, junk food.
  • Smoking.
  • Skipping meals.
  • Avoiding exercise.
  • Late nights.
  • Abusing prescription & illegal drugs.
  • Stimulants.
  • Taking on to many obligations.
  • Staying in draining, abusive, emotional dysfunctional relationships.
  • Self harm – physically, emotionally or mentally.
  • Not allowing “Personal” time.
  • Not enough sleep
  • Excessive caffeine, soft drinks and energy drinks consumption

Try and commit to yourself and let go of these habits!! Swap one bad habit for a good habit, instead of emotionally eating yourself to a larger dress size, take it our on the cement  (pavement) and walk out any frustrations, sadness or anger! Instead of staying up late, record that TV show and treat yourself the next day after work..

You are worth the effort; the key to life is balance and happiness! Move ahead and let go of your past, more, not less of your personality and gifts will manifest

I know what I will be letting go of, and now that we have a Full Moon in transit in the past week it makes for a great time to sit down with yourself, and really think long, hard and deep about what is not working in your life? What feels like resistance in your world? is it that job, or a bad habit (like excessive sugar consumption), worrying about your diet or if you have enough time to please everyone ( whilst neglecting your own needs) .

I can promise you, this moon will be a big one. ..

This month we will experience a powerful Full Moon in Scorpio on April 22, 2016. This supercharged Full Moon will amplify our desires. Scorpio is a passionate sign, in everything it touches, self, relationships, work and play and this energy sets the stage for meaningful personal transformation this Full Moon.

Scorpio’s are intense and feel things deeply. So prepare for a Full Moon of extremes. Full Moons often leave us supercharged, some of us have intense dreams, some of us can’t sleep at all, some may have extra energy or become flat, and if you are anything like me you become super sensitive in more ways than one…Even if you don’t follow astrology one can’t deny that energy is charged up and you at one point in your life you have felt different when a Full Moon approaches.

The passionate, dramatic intense waters of Scorpio seem to be in direct opposition to our practical drive to survive this Full Moon and this can cause tension between our inner and outer worlds, causing some of us to reach a breaking point. Have you felt the pull and push of late?

Full Moons are like axis that balance’s the energy between the Moon and the Sun, the balance of the yin and the yang, our job during this period is find a balance whilst everything is at it’s fullest extreme. Trying to juggle these cosmically opposed forces and find a balance of our receptive and the expressive self.

The Moon is where our feelings live and when the Moon is full, feelings and energy can be at their peak. Be cautious of emotional discontentment, as this is a time where past feelings can stir and rise up, so fight the urges to be moody, snappy, suspicious and secretive. By giving into these negative emotions can block your very heightened creative energy, so just stop.. breath.. and don’t feed the negative emotions any more fuel!! Happy, powerful creative thinking is what needs to be practiced during this Full Moon.

This Moon will propel us forward in delving into the deep mysteries of our hearts and will also allow us to follow our heart with decisive action. This Full Moon the Universe is waking us up to our deepest, highest desires, it will also give us a nudge and the potential to achieve our desires and the courage to go after them. Scorpio’s don’t just settle, they go big or not at all, so this Moon is challenging each and every one of us to Go Big.

Full Moons are a time that bring closure to matters, big and small. During this moon, it is time to stop talking and start doing, we need to rely on our actions to say what needs to be said. The Full moon in Scorpio’s energy will shine a light onto anything hidden, on parts of us that we choose to lock away and ignore the most, parts of our self we never act on or heal, sometimes so much so that it’s time to stop the doubting self – talk and start the doing, start healing.

Death and rebirth is the theme of the week (Not in a physical sense). We cannot receive the new in our life until we purge the old, old pattern’s and emotions that no longer serve you along with releasing old energy, send it all to the light for transmutation.  It is good for focusing and doing psychic work because of the deep emotions and desires Scorpio brings.

Mindfulness Tips & Facts

Anyone can practice mindfulness but it might take a bit of practice. At first you might find it hard to stop your mind from wandering. Here are sum fun facts to help you distract your mind, and help you refocus your mind.

So what is this thing called mindfulness? Below are some definitions:

  • The awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally to the unfolding of experience moment to moment (Kabat-Zinn, 2003).
  • The non-judgmental observation of the ongoing stream of internal and external stimuli as they arise (Baer, 2003).
  • Keeping one’s complete attention to the experience on a moment to moment basis (Martlett & Kristeller, 1999).

Medically speaking..

After 8 weeks of practicing mindfulness exercises for an an average of 27 minutes per day, MRI scans of participants showed that mindfulness:

  • stimulated a significant increase in the density of gray matter in the hippocampus, important for learning and memory;
  • increased the density of gray matter in other neural structures associated with self-awareness, compassion and introspection;
  • decreased the density of gray matter in the amygdala – the part of the brain associated with anxiety and stress.

According to Harvard University, Studies have shown that mindfulness can:

  • relieves stress
  • relieves depression
  • relieves anxiety
  • lowers blood pressure
  • improve chronic pain
  • improve sleep
  • improves capacity to deal with stress
  • improves ability to form deeper connections with others.
  • Mindfulness has also been found to boost immune function.

As the New Moon approaches us have you ever sat and wondered what people are talking about when they mention the “New Moon” and no it’s not a book in the Twilight series I am talking about.

The “New Moon” is the start of the lunar cycle. The new lunar cycle occurs approximately once every 29 days. This is a time when the Moon, Sun and Earth, Moon are roughly positioned in a line, with the Moon sitting between the Earth and the Sun. This is why you can’t see the moon hovering in the night sky. This is often referred to ( and not just by Pink Floyd) as the dark side of the moon.

This “Dark moon” in many cultures such as the Hebrew and Chinese,  represents the start of the calendar month. The first day of the new moon is considered to be the finest day to begin undertaking any new project or task or in many belief systems it is the time to plant a seed of what you want to grow in your life. Making a wish, a promise or to set an intention is a common practice. It is believed that as the moon  grows, that your goal or intention will too …

We are still in that 48 hour time zone where New Moon wishes and intentions can create abundance. Make those wishes count. When you harness the energy with the power of pure intention, the universe is ready to manifest miracles. A great moon mantra to use to raise your  vibrations and create positive mind set  is “I see the New Moon and the New Moon sees me, I wish for abundance to come to me.” and Feel and imagine like what you intend on manifesting or wishes for as already yours..

IT’S HERE…THE FULL MOON  LUNAR ECLIPSE

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 4 degrees in Libra

OK, it’s the celestial build-up we have all been waiting for! Over the next 24 hours, Astrologically we will see  two massive planets, Jupiter and Saturn clash and then on the same day, we get the Full Moon eclipse in the relationship sign of Libra.

In other words, all bets are off in March, due to our  Super New moon in Pisces, our Lunar Eclipse in Libra and the equinox, so  things could get quite wild and it’s a REALLY awesome day to practice some old fashioned Full Moon forgiveness and gratitude. We are in a transformational time right now, Exciting stuff hey.

The Eclipse Energy always bring huge change and fast movement on our Paths!

Mindfulness Breathing Meditation

By focusing on the breath you become aware of the mind’s tendency to jump from one thing to another. The simple discipline of concentration brings us back to the present moment

The purpose of this exercise is to simply notice, accept and be aware of your breath, it’s bringing you back into the moment. As well as this, the mindfulness of breathing is a good antidote to restlessness and anxiety, and a good way to relax: concentration on the breath has a positive effect on your entire physical and mental state.

Sit quietly in a chair with both feet on the ground and your hands in your lap. Close your eyes, if it feels comfortable. If not, soften your gaze. Allow yourself to feel centred in the chair. Bring your attention to the present moment by noticing how you’re feeling physically. Scan your body from head to toe and consciously try to let any tension slip away. Take a moment to notice your environment – any sounds you might hear in the background, what the temperature feels like in the room.Bring all of your attention to the physical act of breathing. Start to notice the breath as it enters your body through your nose and travels to your lungs. After the out-breath you count one, then you breathe in and out and count two, and so on up to ten, and then you start again at one.

Don’t try to do anything with your breathing – simply notice it, pay attention to it and be aware of it.  Each time your mind wanders away from the breath (and this will happen many times!), notice where it goes and then gently bring your attention back to the feeling of the breath going in and out.

Start of by just doing a few minutes , set a timer for 5 minutes (Eventually work your way up to 10, 15 then 30 minutes). When the meditation has ended, take a few moments to yourself, just to really feel connected with the present moment. Expand your awareness from the breath into the room around you, and as you feel comfortable to do so, open your eyes and bring the exercise to a close.

Take a few moments to think about what your experience was in this exercise, and how you feel in the present moment. Journal and take notes on how you feel, and compare your notes at the end of the week, and you can not only feel it, but you will be able to reflect and see the difference.
