Full Moon in Cancer 12/01/2017

This is an action packed Full Moon, it is igniting the Cardinal Grand Cross this energy will continue until 2020. The Full Moon in Cancer at 22 degrees opposes the Sun in Capricorn in 22 degrees. This Full Moon energy is about putting yourself and people first.

We have the first Full Moon of 2017 happening this week on Thursday and it is at 22o in the lovely sign of Cancer. I wont lie this will be very intense with the cardinal grand cross and the Moon in Cancer it makes for a very intense, emotional, sensitive and intuitive time. The Full Moon is fully illuminated and the Sun and the Moon are 180 o apart. The Moon shines it illuminating light on us and influences us the most powerfully and because it’s in the sign of Cancer it will be showering down Cancers energy. Its power will be strong as it is sitting in its ruling sign. The Moon is ruled be Cancer so its energy will be heightened, it feels at home in this sign. Cancer is a cardinal water sign so we need to be taking charge of our emotions , loyalty, family, intuition,feelings, bonds and connections with our self and others, creativity,all the intangible aspects of life. This week we will be flooded with all these aspects and all the emotional things surrounding us. This week we will really feel what life is about , this includes really feeling what our relationships truly are both personally and business . This week we are going to be forced to feel our feelings so those of you in denial will not have a good week.

Take note if you are an earth sign as you may struggle! Earth signs generally don’t like major change or over the top emotional displays for no particular reason.. However we are all human beings, we all have feelings and sometimes we need to have a massive surge of emotions to get it all out of our system, clear the emotional decks and most importantly, it is how we go about change. Change does not just happen by sitting at home and saying everything is OK, I am safe and lets keep things the way they are ( which is what most earth signs would like) However this is a Full Moon in Cancer and feelings will arise,  people will experience strong intense feelings and intense urges to express themselves.

What needs changing? what needs to be released? what needs to be emotionally balanced?

This First Full Moon of 2017 is in a sign that is all about self-care. Cancer is all about taking care of you, nurturing you. Cancer energy  is all about your foundation, how you nourish and nurture yourself, how you love yourself,  how you take care of you. This month self reflect and ask yourself.. are you kind enough to yourself? Do you make sure that your needs are meet? Do you have enough sleep? exercise? You time? The Calling of this month is to focus on extreme self-care.

The Full Moon is at 22 degrees. Now 22 is the master number of the builder, so all this emotional upheaval does have a purpose. Something that is going to be presented to you and for some it may happen in an uncomfortable way , feelings will come up and some feelings may surprise you , For some past emotional  issues that  you may have locked away or thought yo had dealt with will arise , it will be waving in your face and screaming ” Hello im here acknowledge me please ” It is important to feel these feelings, to acknowledge them this emotional reality is the key to what will happen to you through out the year to . This Full Moon will force you to do something, so take some time , think things through this week it is not a great time to make plans and take action. Instead it s a time to go deep and sit with your feelings, hear them as this will help us create change. The master number of the builder  tells us that the significant changes that come out of this Full Moon will affect us for a while, I am talking the big changes such as who we love, where we work , where you live.

So take some time, be in this present moment and figure out what will give you security? What will give you joy? What needs releasing? What patterns need to be broken order for you to grow? What habits need to be released in order for you to better nurture yourself?

Letting go

The path to happiness is often a path of letting go, removing what no longer serves you and not adding to or gaining something. Learning to let go of the past, in particular, emotions, attitudes, bad habits, draining relationships and any other “baggage” that is holding you back is the key to our inner happiness and long overdue healing. In order to make way for amazing wonderful things to come we must leave our comfort zone and “Let go”.

Learning to let go can be somewhat scary, but it is essential!! Learning to let go of old ideas, people, habits and any other situation that no longer serves you is the key to inner balances and self-growth.

A huge block to “letting go” for personal growth is that the future is always unknown. The future is unpredictable, and by letting go, a part of us feels as we may loose an essential part of our life, our identity, a friendship, and a major element of our past, our personality, family or values. This can be a stumbling block, but to truly move forward and embrace what the future has we have to shed our old skin, move forward.

Here is some great examples of dysfunctional living habits that are worth reconsidering and letting go of, they can offer you a temporary relief, but in the long run just add stress, strain and are just simply unhealthy for the mind body and soul.

  • Avoiding work obligations and procrastinating.
  • Excessive alcohol consumption.
  • Emotional eating.
  • Consuming too much sugar, junk food.
  • Smoking.
  • Skipping meals.
  • Avoiding exercise.
  • Late nights.
  • Abusing prescription & illegal drugs.
  • Stimulants.
  • Taking on to many obligations.
  • Staying in draining, abusive, emotional dysfunctional relationships.
  • Self harm – physically, emotionally or mentally.
  • Not allowing “Personal” time.
  • Not enough sleep
  • Excessive caffeine, soft drinks and energy drinks consumption

Try and commit to yourself and let go of these habits!! Swap one bad habit for a good habit, instead of emotionally eating yourself to a larger dress size, take it our on the cement  (pavement) and walk out any frustrations, sadness or anger! Instead of staying up late, record that TV show and treat yourself the next day after work..

You are worth the effort; the key to life is balance and happiness! Move ahead and let go of your past, more, not less of your personality and gifts will manifest

I know what I will be letting go of, and now that we have a Full Moon in transit in the past week it makes for a great time to sit down with yourself, and really think long, hard and deep about what is not working in your life? What feels like resistance in your world? is it that job, or a bad habit (like excessive sugar consumption), worrying about your diet or if you have enough time to please everyone ( whilst neglecting your own needs) .
