Today will give us a mixed bag of emotions and experiences. The energy will continues to bring us face to face with excitement or anxiety t of differing points of view. Keep your chin up, have faith and a mind open and try to see things from different perspectives.

Venus, the planet of love, finances and beauty, forms a challenging Square to restrictive, mastery and determined Saturn.Venus and Saturn will make us get real and it gets us to ask our self when it comes to relationships, Love and Money what do we value? What is our self-worth? What are we happy to put up with and compromise with?Although Saturn can bring up tense feelings, it will bring awareness to any issue or limitations in these areas and can bring you to a place of peace.This placement will hold us in its grip for several days but it is going to highlight what is working and what isn’t. Remember, it  is important to consider what actions you will or can take to move forward or progress during this cycle.

Today the Sun in Pisces forms a flowing trine to Jupiter  in Scorpio. This cycle first happened last year in October 2017, it was very shortly after Jupiter entered Scorpio to be fact. Expect optimism, excitement and confidence as these are key energies we will feel during this transit.This Trine aligns the planet of abundance and expansion with our higher ego and self! We are able now to see our gifts from a deeper perspective, we see and feel deeper and we have an urge to experience the world around us. This time is great for spiritual and emotional work, we desire to grow, increase our luck, expand, have fun, travel and have faith in life!

The New Moon in Cancer 2016

Today marks the beginning of the 29.5 day Moon cycle, as we are having a New Moon in Cancer today  July 4th, 2016 .New Moons are a new wave of energy  that happens when the   Sun and Moon meet at the exact same point of the zodiac ( being Cancer this month)

As a Cancerian myself this is a very exciting month for me, a month of love, birthdays, happiness and today a chance to dream up big and manifest.

This Cancer New Moon offers us a chance to rebirth our emotional body. What do you desire to feel about yourself and your life? What Cancerians traits would you like to manifest and invite into your world?

Cancer is the sign of the Mother,Carer, Nurturer. Cancer symbolizes the womb of Life. Cancerians are the protectors,highly  creative and we feel things on a  very deep level, deep like the running tides of rivers and the oceans. As Cancer is the first cardinal water sign it is a sign of strong feminine power providing the symbolic water of life upon everyone we come across.The Moon is the ruler of Cancer, drawing upon the waters of creation in a tidal ebb and flow. This is about taking steps towards your true heart’s desires, both big and small. In some way you need to establish what you don’t need in your life, or what will interfere with you working towards your true heart’s desire. It could be the way you think, as you may have self-doubts, fears, worries, insecurities and other self-sabotaging thoughts. In some sense, what is needed here, first to recognize that you have such negative thoughts, second perhaps establish a pattern, when you are likely to think of these negative thoughts, third be vigilant so you can recognise these negative thoughts and forth to deal and challenge these thoughts, so you can turn them around so that these negative thoughts do not have such a hold on you.

It could be a simple case that you have too many responsibilities and obligations places on you. If people are constantly putting demands on your time, energy and attention, know that it is OK to say “No” occasionally. If you have too many responsibilities, if there is someone around you who can do them for you , than delegate, so that the workload is fairly distributed. By doing this you are rescheduling your time so you can spend time doing something that is truly important to you.

By working on your true heart’s desires you will have more energy, have greater self-esteem, you will be happier and you will attract more abundance.”

Mindfulness Tips & Facts

Anyone can practice mindfulness but it might take a bit of practice. At first you might find it hard to stop your mind from wandering. Here are sum fun facts to help you distract your mind, and help you refocus your mind.

So what is this thing called mindfulness? Below are some definitions:

  • The awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally to the unfolding of experience moment to moment (Kabat-Zinn, 2003).
  • The non-judgmental observation of the ongoing stream of internal and external stimuli as they arise (Baer, 2003).
  • Keeping one’s complete attention to the experience on a moment to moment basis (Martlett & Kristeller, 1999).

Medically speaking..

After 8 weeks of practicing mindfulness exercises for an an average of 27 minutes per day, MRI scans of participants showed that mindfulness:

  • stimulated a significant increase in the density of gray matter in the hippocampus, important for learning and memory;
  • increased the density of gray matter in other neural structures associated with self-awareness, compassion and introspection;
  • decreased the density of gray matter in the amygdala – the part of the brain associated with anxiety and stress.

According to Harvard University, Studies have shown that mindfulness can:

  • relieves stress
  • relieves depression
  • relieves anxiety
  • lowers blood pressure
  • improve chronic pain
  • improve sleep
  • improves capacity to deal with stress
  • improves ability to form deeper connections with others.
  • Mindfulness has also been found to boost immune function.
