I can promise you, this moon will be a big one. ..

This month we will experience a powerful Full Moon in Scorpio on April 22, 2016. This supercharged Full Moon will amplify our desires. Scorpio is a passionate sign, in everything it touches, self, relationships, work and play and this energy sets the stage for meaningful personal transformation this Full Moon.

Scorpio’s are intense and feel things deeply. So prepare for a Full Moon of extremes. Full Moons often leave us supercharged, some of us have intense dreams, some of us can’t sleep at all, some may have extra energy or become flat, and if you are anything like me you become super sensitive in more ways than one…Even if you don’t follow astrology one can’t deny that energy is charged up and you at one point in your life you have felt different when a Full Moon approaches.

The passionate, dramatic intense waters of Scorpio seem to be in direct opposition to our practical drive to survive this Full Moon and this can cause tension between our inner and outer worlds, causing some of us to reach a breaking point. Have you felt the pull and push of late?

Full Moons are like axis that balance’s the energy between the Moon and the Sun, the balance of the yin and the yang, our job during this period is find a balance whilst everything is at it’s fullest extreme. Trying to juggle these cosmically opposed forces and find a balance of our receptive and the expressive self.

The Sun is in Taurus during this Moon phase and will act as an anchor this week to help hold us to our current path without getting to lost in the paradigms of Venus romantic influence who is dancing alongside wild Uranus. These comic influences will strike a chord in our personal desires as our personal relationships become an experimental playing field as this Scorpion Full Moon bring up desires of strong intense desires, emotional and sexual running deep in our conscious.

The Moon is where our feelings live and when the Moon is full, feelings and energy can be at their peak. Be cautious of emotional discontentment, as this is a time where past feelings can stir and rise up, so fight the urges to be moody, snappy, suspicious and secretive. By giving into these negative emotions can block your very heightened creative energy, so just stop.. breath.. and don’t feed the negative emotions any more fuel!! Happy, powerful creative thinking is what needs to be practiced during this Full Moon.

This Moon will propel us forward in delving into the deep mysteries of our hearts and will also allow us to follow our heart with decisive action. This Full Moon the Universe is waking us up to our deepest, highest desires, it will also give us a nudge and the potential to achieve our desires and the courage to go after them. Scorpio’s don’t just settle, they go big or not at all, so this Moon is challenging each and every one of us to Go Big.

Full Moons are a time that bring closure to matters, big and small. During this moon, it is time to stop talking and start doing, we need to rely on our actions to say what needs to be said. The Full moon in Scorpio’s energy will shine a light onto anything hidden, on parts of us that we choose to lock away and ignore the most, parts of our self we never act on or heal, sometimes so much so that it’s time to stop the doubting self – talk and start the doing, start healing.

Death and rebirth is the theme of the week (Not in a physical sense). We cannot receive the new in our life until we purge the old, old pattern’s and emotions that no longer serve you along with releasing old energy, send it all to the light for transmutation.  It is good for focusing and doing psychic work because of the deep emotions and desires Scorpio brings.

There is great energy this month to complete things that may not of received your full attention last month. Maybe you felt to scattered or the energy did not feel right at the time?! the good news is.. you will have the means and strength to focus on these certain areas and complete what needs to be done.

Don’t Take Anything for Granted

” We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude”

Always act kindly, See the world through eyes of love as opposed to eyes of fear and practice gratitude

These actions are the keys to joy and happiness in your life. will enable you to live a life of abundance.”

We ignore so much of the goodness in our life, and  we tend to only miss this goodness when it is gone. What do you take for granted? I can tell you what I often take for granted. I take for granted my eyes, my eyes which give me vision to see the faces of my loves ones, all the colours of the rainbow, all the wonders that this world has to offer me

By being thankful for what you do have. When we tend to focus on what we want or where we want to be, we neglect that we have, exactly as it is. What if one day it was all to disappear?  how much DO you take for granted your life, big or small. For example; the only time I would not take my body for granted was when it was sick, or you only appreciate the fact you  have  washing machine was when it broke down. Or when you don’t have toilet paper???

By nourishing and being grateful for what you have already, you transform your perspective on life. By investing time by focusing on, and appreciating what we have brings about gratitude. Gratitude leads us to stop focusing on the things that are lacking in our life to all the abundance that already exists.

The Ego is your false self, your Soul is your true self. For one to be truly happy ,you must learn to starve the Ego and feed your Soul.

How to meditate without falling to sleep! 

Are you falling asleep During meditation?

Some questions to ask yourself if you find that you are drifting off whilst meditating..

Is your body or your mind exhausted?  due to intense exercise, physical work or mental exhaustion ? i know some days i am drained and nod off during meditation, Being a Nurse i am physically , emotionally and mentally exhausted some days ( well most at the moment). Is your stomach full when you meditate? or do you practice mindful breathing &  meditation right after a meal? Are you sleep deprived or are you trying to meditate for longer than what you naturally feel like doing? Where and what position are you meditating in?

One of the reasons its suggested to meditate in the morning is cos you awake fresh and alert ( well you should be, there is one exception.. if its rainy and stormy outside). If you haven’t had enough sleep, or are physically exhausted, then it is probably not the best time to meditate. Have some rest first, then try meditating.

If you are still falling to sleep , and you are well rested, keep at it, Keep refocusing on the object of meditation. The mind knows how to be busy thinking, or how to sleep  but is not used to being aware but “empty”, so when we try and switch off and meditate, the mind will try and get distracted, going off on tangents or it will try and go to sleep. Sop keep at it!!!  It will help strengthen your will power, and hopefully with practice you will eventually not have this problem anymore.

There is an exception, if after a busy, exhausting day in which you need to unwind and distract your brain from over thinking, using this breathing mediation is perfect to unwind, relax and fall to sleep carefree, if you are having trouble focusing because of all the traffic in your head, write down all the things on your mind, and a ” to do” or ” things to remember” list for the next day. By writing them down, you are releasing the stress associated with thinking you will forget important things what needs to be done.

Falling asleep can also happen if your sessions are too long. If that is the case, then diminish the length to what is natural to you. Don’t be too ambitious, grow step by step. You can use guided meditation apps in which you are following directions, and at the end they  bring you back to a conscious state. You should not force your mindful breathing sessions or any meditation longer than you are motivated to do.

Sleepiness may be contributed to attempting to mediate right after a meal, especially if you have eaten a lot like i tend to do, its a curse being an emotional eater, i eat when i am happy, sad, stressed, anxious… sigh so i tend to try to meditate pre meals, or a mini session at the coffee shop, or  before bed. If you meditate with a full stomach, much of your energy will be diverted to digestion and less will be available for meditation. If you have just eaten, you will likely have better results if you wait two to three hours after a meal.

Another reason could be if you take alcohol or other drug’s within a 24 to 48 hour period before meditating, as this can t distort your meditation experience, increase your chances of entering either a sleep or a passive state and often it can deaden or dull your inner sensitivity.

What position are you meditating in? if you meditate lying down or in a reclining chair,or in big comfy beanbags or couch  you are more prone to falling a sleep, or  may make it more likely for you to nod off during meditation. You may get better results if you sit upright in a cross legged pose, or a yoga mat, or  in a straight-backed chair.

Practicing meditation after some light exercise, or a shower, can make you be more awake during the session.

Send love to anything and everything! It is the most powerful energy and since thoughts are energy, imagining it works!

Think of your heart, the central part of the human body, the only organ that works without any nervous system sitimulation, the heart beats to its own intrinsic rhythm “It dances to the beat of its own drumb”.  It fires off signals of life every 1 – 2seconds, this amazing organ is not only a tool that conducts energy, not only for you and to you, but also conducts it out away from you. Energy is something that moves through things, into things and out of things. The energy that is created within your heart can be moved to other places. So Please send out heart energy in such a way that it touches others.

Just imagine white or pink light or anything else that you feel symbolizes love best and let it surround or fill anything you wish! It feels amazing and it is one of the easiest ways to help anyone you love, family friends, someone you see suffering from a far, animals and even situations.

When heart energy touches someone, it affects them. They have a choice to both receive the energy and take it inside, or allow it to pass through them. Even if it passes through them, it touches them in some way.

A dose of Vitamin Sea 


Sunshine is the medicine for the soul… If you are anything like me, an empath, the cure to burning off other people’s energy is a good dose of sunshine. For me being in nature especially at the beach and in the sunshine makes my soul whole again.

Being a nurse I pick up and take on others invisible energy and emotions. It doesn’t help that my Star sign is cancerian either… But part of my life lesson , as I am learning ( the hard way sometimes)  is how to remove excess and unwanted energy from myself and my aura, and furthermore learning to figure out what are my emotions and what are other people’s emotions I’m feeling and taking aboard. So grounding is a very important part of my life. I have always been drawn to the water and the beach and now as I reflect back on my life I’ve always lived next to the beach or near a mountain and if I couldn’t be near these parts of nature I felt lost, something was missing, floating in a place that I didn’t enjoy.

I am so very blessed to live with the beach at the end of my street, so every weekend I get up and have my morning coffee or smoothie on the beach and just sit with my feet in the sand and recharge, reflect and regain my energy!

Each weekday I ride my bike along the beach side to work and in that ten minutes ride, my problems , my thoughts all melt away and I think how lucky we are to have such beauty in this world. The sun that shines, even in the darkest of days , it’s still in the sky giving light and life energy, the ocean glistening, waves rolling onto the shore without hesitation or failure. The clean air I breath, all the wonderfull animals i coexist with, along with all the life around me. In those moments I am one with everyone and everything in this universe… Such bliss!

Feed your Solar Plexus

“Open your Solar Plexus Chakra and embrace your core self!”  One way of healing and balancing your solar plexus is by your daily diet.

  

Get in touch with your hunger gauge:

Often, we lose sight of our innate sense of physical hunger and responding to our bodies’ physical cues to eat. Often we can confuse what drives us to eat, like emotional hunger  with actual hunger. At times we may under or over eat or forget to eat at all without even realizing it. Be reconnecting with yourself and your internal power of the Solar plexus you can tap into the internal rhythm to eat, and eating regularly. So before stuffing into that delicious burrito at mid morning snack rate your hunger, write a food journal she how full you feel after each meal you have, look for patterns in your diet, document what types of food you have and how long they sustain your energy for.  If you find yourself “stuffed” after a meal, you may have inundated your solar plexus and not to mention your digestive system and can  place an additional burden on it to process. Aim for about 80% fullness, and if you can try some light exercise to help get the blood flow moving along with your solar plexus.

Schedule regular eating times:

You may want to start by first creating a regular eating schedule. Some people benefit from 3 square meals a day and some people from 4-6 small meals a day, scheduling regular eating times helps retrain yourself to get in touch with your eating patterns. having 3 big meals ( 300 – 450  calories ) with 2 small snacks ( 100 – 150 calories) helps us to maintain our blood sugar, and therefore, gives more energy. this said it depends on your nutritional needs, weather you are active, wanting to loose weight or gain it,  6 foot tall or require special diet requirements, seek a profession for advice when calculating how many calories you need,and never drop below basil metabolic rate.Feeding yourself more regularly will ensure that you have the fuel you need to keep going without succumbing to cravings or dips in energy.

Carbohydrates:

The three lower chakras connect to the energy of the trio of macronutrients , with the solar plexus resonating with carbohydrates, the sacral chakra flows with fats and the root chakra anchoring  proteins. The key to balancing this chakra is with the right amount  and right carbohydrates, such as wholegrain breads,  brown rice and pasta. See whole grain foods rather than  processed foods have not been stripped of essential nutrients our body needs they also have a lower GI and don’t spike our blood glucose levels , giving us a high than a crashing feeling after we eat. Whilst choosing the right carbohydrate, the fiber content of the product is very important marker of how much sustained energy the product will provide, If a food is high in fiber, you will receive adequate amounts of energy over time and if it is to low in fiber and high in simple sugars, your energy will be erratic , as i mentioned before your energy will initially  be very high but then it will plummet. So remember if you eat too little carbohydrates we do not equip the solar plexus with the energy it needs to have momentum and direction and if we have to many carbs we bombard and tax our solar plexus .

Yellow coloured Foods:

To achieve and maintain a A healthy, high vibrational solar plexus, this chakra vibrates at a frequency similar to the colour yellow. Therefore, yellow foods provide the vibrational rate needed to help balance this chakra. Examples include lemons, yellow bell pepper and fresh corn . Bananas, sunflower seeds, pumpkin, dairy such as cheese and yogurt, turmeric, cumin, bread, pasta ( wholegrain of course) , flax and ginger. 

Tips to remember –

  • Get in touch with hunger. Most people don’t really know what hunger feels like
  • Rate your hunger before and after eating to tap into how well you are maintaining your fuel reserves.
  • Know when to start and stop eating.
  • Don’t stuff yourself. You know that saying ‘full as a goog’? You do not want to be that
  • Know which foods give you energy and also know which foods drain your energy away
  • Eat regularly according to your body’s needs, NOT the clock on the wall.
  • Aim for about 80% fullness
  • The goal for a healthy solar plexus chakra is to eat foods that are balanced so that you can be balanced – for example, fruits, nuts, whole grains, legumes, and vegetables.
  • Yellow foods usually contain relatively high levels of plant compounds antioxidants like lutein which protects cells against an attack from the effects of too much energy in the body and overactive metabolism.
  • Include in your diet yellow coloured foods such as – Lemons, yellow capsicum,  fresh corn ,Bananas, mints- peppermint spearmint , sunflower seeds, pumpkin, dairy such as cheese and yogurt, turmeric, cumin, bread, pasta ( wholegrain of course) , flax and ginger.

Read below for a simple home made recipe for roast vegetable that helps detox and boost your solar plexus.

 

 

you will need ~

2  sweet potato’s

1 pumpkin of your choice

2 – 4 carrots

3 big dashes of olive oil

Rosemary ( to taste)

Oregano ( to taste )

Himalayan salt ( to taste)

large baking pan

Preheat oven to 200o celicas

Roughly chop veggies approximately the same size, spread evenly onto a greased baking tray. Lightly drizzle olive oil to coat veggies, sprinkle rosemary,. oregano and salt  to your taste. Bake veggies for 40 minutes, take tray carefully out of the oven flip veggies over , reseason if required and place back inot the oven until they are golden brown and cook to your liking, me well i love them crispy!!

Solar Plexus Chakra

This is the one chakra I have to constantly balance and re-balance in order to keep it open. people like me who struggle with balancing their solar plexus tend to struggle between feeling very powerful and self-assured to feeling worthless and hesitant.

If you repeatedly suffer from any of these conditions, then it is likely your solar plexus is un balanced, so let me give you a quick rundown of the solar plexus chakra and what it affects and how you can rebalance it.

The third Chakra or the solar plexus chakra, is located between the navel and the region of the stomach just in the seat of your gut. As with the other chakras, it extends out in front of you, and behind you. It is bright and glows yellow like the sun.  As is synonymous with the core of your being, the gift of this chakra is sensing and connecting you with your will power, your ego, self-confidence, esteem, self-worth, it is the centre of your personal power and autonomy.  It is from your solar plexus that you find the confidence, strength, and motivation to manifest your goals, your dreams, and your desires

The purpose of this chakra is to allows you to meet challenges and move forward in your life. The main challenge for the third chakra is to use your personal power in a balanced manner.

Physical Symptoms of a Solar-plexus imbalance –

The solar plexus is responsible for maintaining complete function of your digestive system , digestive organs, enzymes, hormones, and physiological processes included.  On the physical level, the solar plexus chakra is associated with the digestive system such as Poor digestion, weight problems, anorexia, bulimia. Other organs that are affected are the  liver, pancreas, kidney and gallbladder. people tend to suffer from acute or chronic  ulcers, arthritis and hepatitis. as it affects the pancreas, temporary short or long term episodes of hypoglycaemia or hyperglycaemia (diabetes )can occur. Solar plexus imbalances can also cause  intestinal tumours and colon disease.

Balanced Solar plexus –

When this Chakra is in balance you will be in complete control over your emotions and thoughts. you will be able to reflect and have the ability to move forward in life with confidence and power. When balanced you will have the ability to make conscious choices to choose and to act, Your ego mind, or small mind will have no unwanted influence over your actions. When in tune, your Solar-plexus will radiate warmth, joy and confidence through-out your entire being. you will shine and glow and influence others who come in contact with you. You will know without a doubt, and accept your place in the Universe ,

 Overactive Solar plexus –

If your chakra is over-active you may react to life circumstances, be judgemental or find it critically easy to blame, point fingers and find fault in others. Beings with excessive third chakra energy have emotional outbursts and are often stressed out, and can be very rigid or stubborn. Anger or aggressiveness result from an over-active chakra. Procrastinating, making grand plans and not following through and becoming obsessive in regards to work or interests You may also be a perfectionist and can’t settle on something that is already good enough, it always has to be better.

 Under active Solar plexus –

If this chakra is under active it can cause severe emotional problems. You may also run on “auto pilot” avoiding your feelings of depression or anxiety. memory blanks, seclusion and isolation. Under active solar plexus tends to make people feel afraid and alone, suffering from mistrust and doubt. Being stuck, viewing life from the inside and not being able to see out or the bigger picture .People will suffer from low self-esteem, addiction, lack of self-control and will over eat or not eat at all and have the inability to set or maintain boundaries.

If you feel you’d benefit from clearing your solar plexus chakra, there are many practical, every-day things that you can do. Here are a few ideas

1.Yoga, the best solar plexus chakra yoga poses are those that strengthen your core and help you to feel more powerful and confident. Step into the Warrior I pose to access your inner spiritual warrior or go deeper with courage into the Bow pose. Continue into part 2 yoga poses, such as Boat pose or Lion’s pose.

2.Diet, Eating foods rich in yellow earthy colours. A healthy solar plexus chakra vibrates at a frequency similar to the colour yellow. Therefore, yellow foods provide the vibrational rate needed to help balance this chakra. Bananas, sunflower seeds, pumpkin, dairy such as cheese and yoghurt, turmeric, cumin, bread, pasta ( wholegrain of course) , flax and ginger

 

3.Essential oils embody the properties of the plant they were extracted from. These properties work on all four levels of our being: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. The following are the most commonly used solar plexus chakra essential oils: rosemary, mandarin, lavender, clary sage, patchouli, camomile.

4.Repeat an affirmation such as: I am confident in all that I do. I am successful. I effectively manifest the deep desires of my soul. I am capable. I can do it. My needs are important.  I release my creative energy into reality.  I can solve any problem that comes up. I respect myself.  I stand up for myself and what I believe in.

5. Healing practitioner – Working with a Reiki practitioner or other energy healer can be a good way to start your healing journey. They will be able to help break up the blockage and can help locate other blockages or imbalances in your energy.

6. At home, meditation is the most effective way to break up a blockage. Everyone possesses healing energy, and you can harness it using visualization

Cutting Cords

What is Etheric Cord Cutting?

“Cords” are energy attachments we form that run back and forth between people, places, objects or situations. These cords are energy structures that connect into our energy bodies, OR it’s the extension of another person’s energy, connecting to you. See everything is made up energy, Your physical body and your spiritual body are made of energetic particles and waves. Unlike your physically body in which you can see and feel energy, some parts of you like your emotions, experiences thoughts and feelings have energy. These unseen energy attachments are usually fear based and unhealthy spiritual connections we form that bind us to the person or object from changing or leaving. These fear based cords intensify and grow larger when to connection to the situation has been developing over a longer period of time, so the largest cords that develop are usually related to parents, siblings, friends, co workers and long-term relationships.

These “cords” are also referred to as etheric cords. Etheric refers to the immediate or first layer in the “human energy field” or aura. We all have etheric cords that we create as ways to connect with things that are around us. These cords act as a direct connection to whom or whatever we have formed an attachment with. They provide us with accurate link to tap into that persons/objects energy source. These spiritual leashes have nothing to with love or positive aspects of relationships. They can no longer connect you in a positive way and become counter productive.

Cords can go both ways, either you can form the attachment or vice versa, someone could of formed an attachment to you. This is the essence of an energetic cord.

Have you ever felt a strong connection with someone or something? Perhaps a traumatic or painful event, or an ex best friend or partner who is no longer in your life, but you get them out of your mind, you still get consumed by the thought of them. You may try everything you can to stop thinking of this person but be unable to. If you are becoming distracted, obsessed, anxious, worried, jealous, or influenced by another, this is because there is still a cord between the two of you, and energetically you are still attached.

Cords can be beneficial, too! These cords include the bonding connection you have when you get into a new relationship or friends? Ever felt that need to text your sister or best friend only to pick up the phone to see a message from them, Or a loving, protecting bond between you and your mother, child or a pet? Etheric cords are essential to life, and as you can see, they are all not bad for you. They can be serving you well or serving you poorly. But if you find yourself obsessing and thinking about a situation or person for days, weeks and sometimes months ands years that is draining your vitality, You can look at energetically cutting the non serving etheric cords. Cutting these cords does not mean that you are ending or abandoning a relationship with a particular person or that you will lose contact. it’s releasing the unhealthy part of the relationship. Removing the negative energy between two people actually allows love to form and grow in a healthy way.

So how can we cut…

Identify what needs cutting. Think of a question or situation that you would like help with. Ask your spirit guides and angels (or any divine being that you connect with) to show you any energy cords. Once identified, visualise the cord connection between you and the person/object, feel how it makes you feel, keep your eyes shut here and imagine or sense what it looks like. Does this energy cord feel heavy, draining? Or does it feel light, healthy and loving? If the cord is unhealthy and draining than its time to release the connection.

If you choose to cut the cord, ask for assistance by your or Guardian Angel, Archangel Michael or Spirit Guide and set the intention by saying aloud or, in your mind.

“ I now cut all cords with unconditional love and compassion that are attached from me to any person, place, situation and object that no longer serves my highest good. Archangel Michael please cut all etheric cords attached to my aura that have been blocking and draining me in all directions of time. Please remove all negativity so I may re -align myself with my divine life path and higher self. Thank you “

Imagine white light surrounding you and a large sward cutting through the cords, release the fear, freeing you from the cords that are draining your energy and vitality. Sit quietly while you and Archangel Michael cuts your cords. He’ll send healing energy through the severed cords to both you and the other person.

Do not send your energy to them in the form of love and healing light, let them heal by there own means, as this could encourage cord reattachment!
