As the New Moon approaches us have you ever sat and wondered what people are talking about when they mention the “New Moon” and no it’s not a book in the Twilight series I am talking about.

The “New Moon” is the start of the lunar cycle. The new lunar cycle occurs approximately once every 29 days. This is a time when the Moon, Sun and Earth, Moon are roughly positioned in a line, with the Moon sitting between the Earth and the Sun. This is why you can’t see the moon hovering in the night sky. This is often referred to ( and not just by Pink Floyd) as the dark side of the moon.

This “Dark moon” in many cultures such as the Hebrew and Chinese,  represents the start of the calendar month. The first day of the new moon is considered to be the finest day to begin undertaking any new project or task or in many belief systems it is the time to plant a seed of what you want to grow in your life. Making a wish, a promise or to set an intention is a common practice. It is believed that as the moon  grows, that your goal or intention will too …

We are still in that 48 hour time zone where New Moon wishes and intentions can create abundance. Make those wishes count. When you harness the energy with the power of pure intention, the universe is ready to manifest miracles. A great moon mantra to use to raise your  vibrations and create positive mind set  is “I see the New Moon and the New Moon sees me, I wish for abundance to come to me.” and Feel and imagine like what you intend on manifesting or wishes for as already yours..

Remember the Law Of Attraction states you attract what you think and feel. So the question is… Do you believe in magic ?

Mindfulness Breathing Meditation

By focusing on the breath you become aware of the mind’s tendency to jump from one thing to another. The simple discipline of concentration brings us back to the present moment

The purpose of this exercise is to simply notice, accept and be aware of your breath, it’s bringing you back into the moment. As well as this, the mindfulness of breathing is a good antidote to restlessness and anxiety, and a good way to relax: concentration on the breath has a positive effect on your entire physical and mental state.

Sit quietly in a chair with both feet on the ground and your hands in your lap. Close your eyes, if it feels comfortable. If not, soften your gaze. Allow yourself to feel centred in the chair. Bring your attention to the present moment by noticing how you’re feeling physically. Scan your body from head to toe and consciously try to let any tension slip away. Take a moment to notice your environment – any sounds you might hear in the background, what the temperature feels like in the room.Bring all of your attention to the physical act of breathing. Start to notice the breath as it enters your body through your nose and travels to your lungs. After the out-breath you count one, then you breathe in and out and count two, and so on up to ten, and then you start again at one.

Don’t try to do anything with your breathing – simply notice it, pay attention to it and be aware of it.  Each time your mind wanders away from the breath (and this will happen many times!), notice where it goes and then gently bring your attention back to the feeling of the breath going in and out.

Start of by just doing a few minutes , set a timer for 5 minutes (Eventually work your way up to 10, 15 then 30 minutes). When the meditation has ended, take a few moments to yourself, just to really feel connected with the present moment. Expand your awareness from the breath into the room around you, and as you feel comfortable to do so, open your eyes and bring the exercise to a close.

Take a few moments to think about what your experience was in this exercise, and how you feel in the present moment. Journal and take notes on how you feel, and compare your notes at the end of the week, and you can not only feel it, but you will be able to reflect and see the difference.

 

Mindfulness Monday…

The Happiness Project…..

Day 1.

Today is the first day of my mini happiness adventure, and an optimistic attitude is the first tool you need to tackle change. So today let me introduce you to Mindfulness, the ancient practice of focusing a non judgmental awareness on the present moment is a great place to start.

Mindfulness is a great mind exercises that allow you to be able to identify, permit and reduce any painful, fearful and difficult thoughts, sensations  and feelings. Trying to shift these personal experiences, feelings and thoughts to that of a positive mind-set, try asking yourself what-if questions, such as,

“What if life is working on my behalf?”

“What if this is a blessing in disguise?”.

“What if I believe things are going to get better?”

“What if this crisis is the best wake-up call I ever got?”Looking at change this way will make it seem less scary because you’re focusing your mind on positive outcome. Mindfulness gives you back some sense of mastery over your thoughts and feelings. Rather than having the sense that you are being pushed around by the universe or your feelings and thoughts you can learn to be able to have some control over them. So seeing the positive in what seems like a negative will you can actually rewire your mind to think more optimistically.

Mindfulness can…

Increases Positive Emotions .

Decreases Depression.

Decreases Anxiety .

Decreases Stress.

Today, go to a cafe, sit at the beach or go somewhere you love and feel good to be at, and write down things that have upset you, hurt you, any difficult situations or people and really reflect, look at things from an outside point of view, non emotional and non bias view and write ONE or more positive “What If’s”.

So for me, last year i seemed to meet really great guys, but it never worked out, i thought i was not good enough or why can’t i every find love and be happy?”

” What if he wasn’t the man for me, and the universe was making me, emotionally free and single, so that the right man to come into my life, and i will be drama and stress-free and happy” .

So today i really looked back on the relationships… And as much as i hated to admit it, as much as they where great guys… they were not the great guy for me..

Today i will also use mindfulness in little bumps in my day ( hopefully I don’t ) but  instead of getting mad, or upset i will stop myself, take 3 deep breaths , affirm to myself ” its going to be ok, you have survived a lot worse, smile this will all pass quickly”

So how has every gone writing their New Moon wishes? Top 3 tips when writing and setting your intentions…

  1. Write your wishes and/or intentions down – either on a sheet of paper with a pen, or with coloured pens, pencils and so on. The more energy you invest, the better your results are likely to be.
  2. Read them out to the Universe then either bury or burn your list, or set it aside so you can check it this time next month, to see how your wishes worked out.
  3. THIS IS THE CRUCIAL BIT: Really, really, FEEL how you would/will feel if and when the wishes come true. Hold those feelings.

The veils will continue to thin even further this week and multidimensional reality brought forth. During this phase you will have the subconscious brought to the conscious through your dream and meditative state. Be sure to journal any and all as this will provide “keys” or “glimpse” to your immediate future. How exciting..

Don’t forget to open up and look for synchronicities, this is a very exciting week so expect more abundance in your life and blessings to come your way out of the blue!

This card is a signal that your energy and attention need to be grounded. If you’ve been feeling spacey, confused, or forgetful ( who can blame one, with all this crazy New Moon, solar eclipse energy buzzing around) this card speaks to the reason. “Ungroundedness” means that your attention is directed up too high, as if you’re not in your body.

A balance is needed between a focus on spirit and a focus on Earth. You can ground yourself by walking barefoot on grass or soil, by eating foods from the ground like potatoes or carrots, by rubbing your bare feet, by touching a tree or plant, or by visualizing roots coming from the bottom of your feet into the earth. Grounding will help you to better concentrate and focus, and will also increase your connections to the angels.

This New Super Moon in Pisces has and will create confusion, and mixed energies in many sectors of your world. This strong new moon solar energy brings with it strong opinions, creative ideas, lots of day dreaming, emotional healing and mystical events, it is important during this time that yes we can float away with out imagination and get lost in dreams but we must still stay grounded.

There are two powerful ways to get grounded. One way is to do a tree meditation.  First, stand up, or sit up straight and tall.  Make believe that you are a tree or visualize that you have branches that extend out of your body way up into the sky as high as you can imagine.  Next, imagine that you have roots wrapped around your legs that are buried deep, deep within the core of the earth, wrapping around your ankles cementing and anchoring you deep. Another  way to feel grounded instantly is to hold a large, smooth rock in both hands or crystals with grounding energy and vibrations.  You are now grounded and energetically connected to the earth and the Universe.

MOON INTO CANCER: We are still in the First Quarter Phase of the Moon as she moves into Cancer. This is a lovely, comfy, and homely vibe.
However, also today, we have the move of Venus into Aquarius, a far more aloof and detached sign.

So today, if on the one hand you want to “juss vont to be alone!” while on the other hand you want to smother someone with your love,  you now you know why.

My suggestion would be to go for the cuddling and hugging until someone tells you to stop. And then don’t be offended! Don’t take it personally!

Today as the Disseminating Moon moves through Libra, it’s a wonderful day to take time out to be grateful to for the people in your life.

Exercise: Make a list of the TOP 10 most important people in your life. Who are they and what do they mean to you? Do you need to try harder with them? Why are you grateful to them? Have you let them know lately?

Daily Oracle Reading –

Today i was drawn to pull two cards, and they profoundly compliment each other  “acceptance & See only love”

From my experience when we lighten up and let go of misunderstandings, we stop feeding the energy of anger, and it may bring about a shift or healing. If not, then it sets one free from walking around with the burden of a mind rehashing the hurts, which in turn affects our well being. It allows us to enjoy the presence of the moment.

” See only Love”

The angels gave you this card as a reminder to see yourself, others, and every situation through their eyes. When you focus on love, anything that’s unloving falls away. It’s like turning on a light to diminish the previous darkness. Call upon the angels whenever you need help to elevate your vision to a more loving vantage point. Today try and look past the personalities and egos of others, and see the angel within them (and if this seems difficult ask the angels can help you with this). Today forgive others and yourself. Release anger, hurt, or judgments to the angels, Affirm what you desire, instead of what you fear. release any blockages and focus on what you want more of and less of what you dont have

Things happy people do in the morning

They wake up early.

Waking when the sun rises gives you the opportunity to be more productive and to be more organised, it also reduces stress levels. When you start the day by running around at the last minute trying to get ready it sets a bad vibe and tone for your day ahead.

They express gratitude.

Before your feet hit the ground in the mornings, be thankful, be thankful you are alive and that you have another day to spend on this magnificent planet, be thankful for the air you breathe be thankful you have a body that works. And remember not everyone got to wake up as blessed as you and with such  blessings that we often take for granted. Happy people wake up with a grateful mindset, each and every morning. “Each morning I write in a journal dedicated to being grateful, I write 10 things I am grateful for and how they make me feel, such as I’m grateful for my home and the safety and comfort it provides me, I am grateful that I have a job that pays me more than enough, I am grateful that  I can pay my bills on time, I am grateful that my body is pain free and healthy today, I am grateful for my family and their health and wellbeing.”  As you can see there is many things to be grateful for.

They exercise.

Exercise boosts happiness, by promoting happy chemicals to be released from the brain such as dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine. These chemicals are known to buffer the effects of stress and can relieve symptoms of depression. Exercise also keeps our waist lines in check and helps reduce the chances of chronic health diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. In today’s busy lifestyle most people work late and have less time to exercise after work, so the best time is in the morning when you have the energy and the motivation.  “I ride my bike to work because it creates a stress-free time and the only time I really get to exercise and enjoy it in my day, working long hours as a nurse I make the effort and get up early, instead of tramming it to work I ride my bike or walk, its great I can listen to an audiobook or my favourite music. I actually get my best ideas on my bike.”

They have breakfast.

Happy healthy people know that this is one of the most important meals of the day.  It kick starts your metabolism and provides you with all the essential energy, nutrients and minerals you are going to need for the day. The key is to plan a good breakfast the night before. You will be able to get some of the things ready so you can save time when you are under pressure during your morning schedule.

They Set daily goals.

Happy people write a list of goals that want to achieve for the day, they also   prioritize what they have to get done, it’s important to get the most difficult task done first as you have fresh train of thought. It’s also a rewarding feeling be able to tick listed tasks off.

Start fresh.

Each morning happy people forgive themselves and others for any mistakes and wrong doings in the past. Happy people move forward and choose to be happy, holding onto grudges and anger only lowers your vibrations and attracts more negative thinking and emotions.

Meditation.

Meditate or start your day with positive affirmations , by doing as simple of five minutes in the morning can change your thinking and help re program your mind to be more positive. Changing your mind set to happy thoughts help raise your vibrations, raising your vibrations helps you to manifest and creative more positive experience in your life.

They are organised.

Organising yourself the night before for the next day can reduce stress in the morning and reduce the chances of you running late. Your morning routine can set your mood for the day so you should ensure it goes as smoothly as possible. This also frees up time for you in sit and enjoy that morning cup of coffee.

See if you could just for one week change up your morning routine , notice how you appreciate the smalls things, and how your day has a different flow to it, and if some of the things listed are to impossible, just  adapt it to fit you .Even if you can adopt even a few of the changes you will notice how easier life becomes and much more happy you feel.

The power of gratitude 

If I could give you the key or a magic potion that could transform your life and make you healthier, happier wealthier , increase productivity and optimism and no cost would you be interested?

Well…

The universal law of attraction tells us that we will attract into our lives the things we focus  and think about. Science tells us that an ” attitude of gratitude ” is a good health choice, being more grateful more often can make us an optimistic and happier.

Being grateful can improve life productivity hear are 4 reason why it works…

Gratitude attracts what you want.

Law of attraction states “ask ,and it is given” , and well what a power statement. We attract into our lives what we think about especially things we put deep focus and emotion to. And sense this is  true would you want to attract more things that you are grateful for , not things you count as a disaster in your life. So the rule of thumb is when you are thankful for and count the blessings that you have in your life you change , you are focusing more clearly on what you do want in your life and are attracting more of those things.

Ask, believe and receive…

Expectation is a powerful force, expect the things you want , and don’t except the things you don’t want.

Gratitude reduces negative

It’s more difficult to be negative about situations you face when you are remembering things you are grateful for, one of the quickest ways to improve your mood is to count your blessings. Nothing in the world can bother you or make you negative but your own mind, it’s not that others are not bothering you , its your perception and your mind that decide for you, so change your thoughts change your world.

When something is wrong, sit down and be thankful for the many things that are going right

Gratitude improves relationships.

Saying thank you to the people you love and to the people who provides you services throughout the day makes you more appreciative of them and all they do for you. How many times have you taken for granted the small things your family or friends do for you? Or the lack of appreciation  to the person who serves you at the coffee shop? Or how many people are thankful for the garbage man? Who I can tell you deserve many more gratitude & thanks,  and A higher pay  if you ask me.

Gratitude helps us to learn and problem solve.

Practicing gratitude makes us enter a problem solving situation with a perspective of improvement and opportunity , no longer are you looking what went wrong but what am I grateful for learning and how can I avoid that for next time. You learn that every dark day has a silver lining, being grateful for our situations even if we don’t like something about it, it also allows us to be thankful for the opportunity to learn something new and to grow

Ok, I can hear a lot of you asking well how can I be more grateful more often…
Let’s start off simple,

  • Each day , first thing in the morning write down 10 things you are grateful for.
  • Reflect on each point you listed and feel the emotion and gratitude  if you can write next to the thing your grateful for how it makes you feel, happy joy peace , love,fun, abundant
  • Say thank you to everyone who provides you service
  • Before you go to bed write or say in your head thank you for all the things that went well in your day, and try and see the positive in situations you thought didn’t work out so well.
